The South Australian State School Administrative Officers Association (SASSAOA) was first formed in 1974 and has evolved from small beginnings to representing primary, secondary, special, area and combined schools across our state. We are an association for non-teaching staff working in South Australian public schools. We are a progressive, representative body for school business, administrative and financial leaders; current and aspiring.
Our focus on building workforce capacity, collaboration, and delivery of world class educational business leadership in South Australian public schools, aims to transform educational business knowledge and systems to enable successful outcomes for every student.
To provide an influential and empowering voice for members by building business leadership capacity and recognition of the non-teaching workforce through futures focused professional development, consultative and collaborative connections, and world class education system improvement.

What we do
We are committed to authentic working partnerships with the Department for Education, and other professional associations, supporting the delivery of a world class system, including its business, procedures and processes. Our strategic directions are reflective of the department’s strategic plan. Significant successful outcomes for school business systems have resulted from positive connections, consultancy and collaboration with the department. Our strategic directions are supported by a three year funding agreement between SASSAOA and the department.

Our management committee demonstrate passion and commitment to our workforce and members through hard work, personal and communal growth and being open to change. We are all collectively and individually responsible for contributing to an education system that enables each school to be equally as brilliant as the the one next door, providing the educational business management and leadership to facilitate successful outcomes for every public school student. The committee willingly commit themselves to provide opportunities for their peers and colleagues. The sense of belonging, giving back to a system, personal leadership, growth, collaboration and connections are the rewards for time spent.

Become a member for $110 per annum incl. GST (reviewed each year)
If you are a non-teaching staff leader responsible for business management, finance or personnel management in a South Australian government school, you are eligible to become a member. Registration for membership is due annually aligned with a school year, ie from January to December. We price all events as non-profit to keep costs as low as possible for sites.
